EB-1 Permanent Workers Extraordinary Ability /Outstanding Professor /Multinational Executive

The United States is the best country in the world. It has the largest economy. American businesses are able to compete in a global arena with other foreign countries in the same industry. The United States is also very innovative when it comes to technology, medicine, and business, to name few categories. The United States does not just rely on American born citizens to stay competitive however. The United States offers a special visa, the EB-1 Permanent Worker Visa– Extraordinary Ability/Outstanding Professor/Multinational Executive to help encourage foreign nationals to immigrate to the United States.

Since this visa type has many categories for which a person with extraordinary abilities may qualify for, the requirements that the person must meet are different depending under which category he or she applies for. One thing that remains similar in all categories however is that the person must show that they have an “Extraordinary Ability” in their field. The categories they must show their Extraordinary Ability are: in the field of the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics through sustained national or international acclaim.

The applicant must also show that they have received recognition for their efforts, contributions, and work in his or her respected field. This can be done in a number of ways such as awards, citations, publications, and so on.

For Outstanding Professors and Researchers, they must show that they demonstrate international recognition for outstanding achievements in a particular academic field. The applicant must have a minimum of three years' experience teaching or researching in that area. Finally, the applicant must be entering the United States in order to pursue tenure or a tenure track teaching or comparable research position at a university or other institution of higher education.

For a Multinational Manager or Executive, they must show that they have been employed outside the United States for at least one year by a firm or corporation during the three years before applying and that the applicant is be seeking to enter the United States to continue service for that firm or organization. The applicant's employment must also be at the level of managerial or executive capacity and with the same employer, an affiliate, or a subsidiary of the employer.

An attractive part of the EB-1 visa category is that the applicant does not need to an employment offer. Meaning the applicant isn't relying on an employer to help him or her obtain his or her visa. Also, once your petition is approved, you can apply for legal permanent residence and receive a Green Card.
