Q-1 Cultural Exchange Visa

Posted by Ramona Kennedy | Nov 15, 2018 | 0 Comments

The world is a big place. Although technology has made it a lot smaller, there are still so many different cultures, languages, and different ways of thinking that technology just can't do anything about to get a better glimpse of what life is in different parts of the world. To get a better understanding of just how different the world is, the United States offers the Q-1 Cultural Exchange visa.

The Q-1 cultural exchange visa was designed to allow a foreign national of countries such as Germany, Italy, or Iran, to name a few, to enter the United States on a non-permanent basis. This is because countries such as these have different languages, a rich history, and different foods; and this visa allows them to share it with the citizens of the United States.

The United States has been called a melting pot of cultures. This means that when foreign nationals have immigrated to the United States, they brought their cultures with them. This includes, their history, art, foods, religion, experiences, etc.

To repay the foreign national for sharing their heritage with those in the United States, the Q-1 visa allows the foreign national to receive practical training and even employment while in the United States.

A foreign national applying for a Q1 visa will be able to experience all these cultures. In cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, one can experience dozens of different cultures and get a glimpse of how life is in countries such as China, Japan, Iran, Turkey, etc.

The foreign national will also be able to share their own culture with these people, helping create understanding and an exchange of ideas and views with Americans and other foreign nationals here on temporary visas.

A foreign national can also bring their family with them when their visa is granted. This means that the foreign national's spouse and children can accompany them to enjoy this experience.

There are a few requirements that the foreign national must meet to qualify for this visa. The foreign national must be at least 18 years of age. The foreign national must also be able to communicate effectively about the cultural attributes of their country. This is because the main purpose of this visa is to exchange cultural ideas of people from all over the world.
