EB-5 Regional Center Program Reauthorized, Investment Increase

Congress has reauthorized the EB-5 Regional Center Program and this reauthorization will last until the fiscal year of 2027. This is because the program has expired as of June 30th, 2021. This law is in connection with the 2022 Federal Appropriations Legislation that President Biden is proposed to be signing promptly.

  • What Has Changed in the Reauthorization of EB-5 Programs?

This new law enforces a minimum investment of $1,050,000 for any standard EB-5 investment. For all investments in areas of targeted employment (also known as “TEA”), there has been a minimum investment increase of $800,000. It also allocates some particular portion of investments in rural areas, infrastructure projects, and areas of high unemployment.

Due to this reauthorization, Unites States Citizenship and Immigration Services will be able top continue with the pending cases that had been previously suspended due to the program's expiration and accept new filings.

There will be upcoming updates and announcements to come.
