Types of California DUI Laws & Penalties

There are two general kinds of DUI laws for adult drivers in the state of California. o Two-year license suspension (if no IID, then three-year license suspension)

o Up to 30 months of DUI School

· Dui with Injury (Misdemeanor)

o County jail time of up to one year

o Fine of $390 to $5,000

o Six-month license suspension (if no IID, then one-year license suspension)

o 18 to 30 months of DUI School

· 1st Offense DUI with Injury (Felony)

o State prison time anywhere from 16 months to 16 years

o Fine of $1,015 to $5,000

o One-year license suspension

o 18 to 30 months of DUI School

· Felony DUI

o State prison time of up to three years

o Fine of $390 to $1,000

o Up to five-year license suspension

o 18 to 30 months of DUI School
